Entry Level Project Engineer

Schultz Burman Engineering is currently seeking to fill a Project Engineer position located in Houston, Texas.

As a Project Engineer your responsibilities will include the following:

  • Performing the structural design of various concrete, steel and wood framed structures
  • Producing and coordinating construction documents in AutoCAD
  • Maintaining client contacts and correspondence during job production
  • Providing construction administration services which will include reviewing shop drawings, providing additionally requested construction details and performing field inspections and structural observations

The ideal candidate should possess the following qualities:

  • Civil Engineering Degree (ABET) with a course emphasis in Structural Engineering
  • Ability to multitask while working on several projects simultaneously
  • Knowledge of structural calculations for analysis of steel, concrete and wood framed structures
  • Experience or knowledge of AutoCAD and design software such as Risa 3D, Enercalc, ETABS
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Self-driven with a track record of high achievement and strong organizational skills
  • Ability and desire to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment
  • Desire to grow professionally and add value to a fast paced, growing company

The Project Engineer position requires a minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Structural Engineering. A Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering with emphasis in Structural Engineering is preferred but not required. Recent graduates who are working towards their professional license (E.I.T. or P.E.) as well as students who will be achieving their B.S. or M.S. degree within 12 months are all encouraged to apply.

Project Manager

Schultz Burman Engineering is currently seeking to fill a Project Manager position located in Houston, Texas.

As a Project Manager your responsibilities will include the following:

  • Managing a team of project engineers
  • Participating in coordination meetings with clients, supervisors and owners
  • Performing the structural design of various concrete, steel and wood framed structures
  • Producing and coordinating construction documents in AutoCAD
  • Maintaining client contacts and correspondence during job production
  • Providing construction administration services which will include reviewing shop drawings, providing additionally requested construction details and performing field inspections and structural observations

The ideal candidate should possess the following qualities:

  • Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE)
  • 5+ Years as a Project Engineer
  • Civil Engineering Degree (ABET) with a course emphasis in Structural Engineering
  • Ability to multitask while working on several projects simultaneously
  • Knowledge of structural calculations for analysis of steel, concrete and wood framed structures
  • Experience in AutoCAD and design software such as Risa 3D, Enercalc, ETABS

Engineering Internship

Schultz Burman Engineering is currently seeking a talented civil/structural engineering student for an internship located in Houston, Texas.

As an intern on our team, you’ll have the opportunity to learn from our experienced staff of engineers and work on exciting and significant projects, delivering quality work that has a positive and lasting influence on the community.

As an Engineering Intern your responsibilities will include the following:

  • Performing basic calculations for structural design of various concrete, steel and wood framed structures
  • Learning codes and standards to complete assignments
  • Providing construction administration services which will include reviewing shop drawings, providing additionally requested construction details and performing field inspections and structural observations

The ideal candidate should possess the following qualities:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering (with Structural emphasis) from an ABET accredited college or university
  • Completed a fundamentals of structural analysis course
  • Completed a strength of materials course with statics and dynamics application
  • Completed a fundamentals of steel design course and/or fundamentals of concrete design course
  • Basic knowledge of AutoCAD and design software such as Risa 3D, Enercalc, ETABS
  • Ability to multitask while working on several projects simultaneously
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Self-driven with a track record of high achievement and strong organizational skills
  • Ability and desire to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment
  • Desire to grow professionally and add value to a fast paced, growing company
  • Unwavering attention to detail
  • Minimum of a 3.0 GPA strongly preferred
